FCPS STEM Connect is a program designed to provide opportunities for clubs and student-run organizations (SROs) within FCPS to inspire and engage younger students in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). Through this initiative, clubs and SROs can connect with younger students, showcase their projects and initiatives, and make a difference in their community.

Problem

Solution

While FCPS has already established productive and thorough programs for STEM engagement for external organizations (FCPS Ignite Partnerships), there is a lack of resources for clubs and SROs within FCPS to engage and inspire younger audiences in STEM. This presents a challenge for clubs and SROs that are seeking ways to volunteer and showcase their STEM-related projects to a wider audience, while simultaneously encouraging students to pursue their interests in STEM.

FCPS STEM Connect is a program designed to connect clubs and SROs within FCPS with younger students who have an interest in STEM. Through this program, clubs, and organizations can engage with students and provide them with the opportunity to learn more about STEM, gain hands-on experience, and pursue their interests in STEM. This program offers a win-win for both students and clubs/SROs, as students are inspired by peers who are only a few years older, while clubs/SROs are able to showcase their projects and build outreach, as well as reach out to their local community and make an impact.
